Kay the Realtor®

When I was first licensed as a Realtor® in the 90’s, bag cell phones were rare, fax contracts were not acceptable, and we had to pay dues to two Associations.  Raising my family at the same time was difficult so I let my license expire.  I finished my Associates Degree in Business Administration during this time.

In 2003 I set out to be re-licensed and pursue a career as a Real Estate Professional.  In January, 2004 I re-entered the Real Estate world.  This time I had clear defined goals. My first goal was to achieve as much education as possible.  Education is like a Life Insurance Policy that no one can ever take away from you.  So as soon as I received my license with a Broker, I set out to get as much real estate education as I could.  First year--ABR, at eighteen months--GRI, Second year e-Pro and CRS.  Then two months after my third year in real estate, I passed my Broker Exam.

During this time I volunteered for my local Association Grievance and Education Committee’s.  I Chaired the Education Committee in 2008 and am now the present Education Chair for 2009.  I am a Certified Ethics Instructor and I am a SVAR volunteer Mediator.  I have received both Outstanding Sales Awards and SVAR Honor Society membership for the past three years.   In 2007 I became a VAR Honor Society member.

I believe that education is the “key” to being a professional, informed Realtor® and there is no better way to serve your clients.   I also believe that volunteering helps to make a small body/force more significant.   It has been my pleasure to serve the SVAR Board and I face future challenges with enthusiasm.

Showing Dogs

Ebbie can fly to music--click below to see & hear!

I believe that showing dogs is about teamwork between a dog and human.  This collabaration with a 4 legged friends takes effort on the part of the trainer and the dog.   It is all about building communication & mutual respect.

I compete and judge the obedience sport “Canine Freestyle”.  Freestyle is a choreographed performance with music, showing the grace, beauty and intelligence of the dog as well as the bond between the dog and handler.

You can download a video  performance taken in the March, 2005 CFF competition where my dog Ebbie completed a High Artistic Score.  Ebbie became a CFF Champion!  To date there are only 4 CFF Champions in the world.

The movie was shot and edited by Emmy Award Winner Cameron Foster. Click here to visit his Video Production Services web site!

Up until the year 2007,  I exhibited as a Breeder/Owner/Handler of Parson Russell Terriers. My husband and I have owned the breed for more than 20 years.  This breed was previously called the Jack Russell Terrier.   The breed was recognized in the AKC Terrier Group in the year 2000.  We are no longer breeders but we do have a few 4 legged retired show dogs.  Shown below is a Champion that we are especially proud of.  I  finished him in the Bred-by-exhibitor class at the Parson Russell National Specialty--the most competitive Terrier Show of the year.  The moment was a well deserved Validation derived after a very Long Journey.
